Education with A Step Ahead

Young Adult Prevention Education

We believe that teens and young adults should understand how their body and relationships work. Through our Girl Talk, Guy Talk, and Real Life, Real Talk education sessions we cover comprehensive and important topics for teens and young adults (aged 13-24) in our community. These sessions include reviewing and understanding the importance of abstinence, anatomy, consent & coercion, healthy relationships & communication, STIs & HIV and prevention, pregnancy, and birth control.

We offer the following education sessions virtually or in-person:

This program will be led by at least one trained A Step Ahead staff member. This program can be co-ed or single gender. This course can be held over the course of 2 individual 1 hour sessions or one 2.5 hour session with a break and interactive review game.

Family Planning Education

We believe that women and families of all ages should know what resources are available for planning a healthy and stable family. Our adult education Family Planning with A Step Ahead education session reviews the importance of family planning, STI prevention, all birth control options, and the steps to receiving access to free long-acting reversible contraception (LARC, including the birth control implant and IUDs).  This session can range from 30-60 minutes depending on allotted time and will be led by one trained A Step Ahead staff member. This session can be co-ed or single gender.

These education sessions are great for recovery programs, job-training programs, Adult-Education programs, re-entry programs, court programs, and so many more.
